  4. Xensam Insights: The State of SaaS — Q1 2026

AI Is Already in the Room. You Just Can’t See It.

In Q1 2026, Grammarly is active in roughly one in eight enterprise organizations. It reads and processes content across every application a user touches: emails, documents, chat tools, web forms. Most IT teams have no record of it.

Most organizations have a clear view of the software they have licensed.

This report shows what is actually running.
This is not survey data.
This is not self-reported behavior.
This is real usage at scale.

The AI market isn’t consolidating. It’s multiplying.

ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, Google Gemini, and new entrants are all growing at once. Organizations are not standardizing on a single AI tool. They are accumulating them, often without a governance framework to match.

A new AI platform appeared this quarter. It wasn’t in last year’s report.

Anthropic Claude did not appear in the 2025 SaaS report. By Q1 2026, it had already reached close to 10% enterprise engagement. That pace is a signal: the AI landscape can change faster than most organizations make decisions.

Shadow IT has graduated. Now it needs a budget line.

Canva’s engagement has grown by more than 60% since 2025. Miro’s has nearly doubled. These are no longer fringe tools. They are embedded in core workflows, which makes them a procurement decision, not a governance exception.

Most market reports are built on spend data or surveys. They show what organizations have paid for. This report is built on observed usage from more than one million professional users, captured directly on corporate devices. It covers more than 125,000 applications. It shows behavior, not billing.
