  4. Xensam Insights: The 2025 SaaS Report

Summarize:

The data behind the insights

This webinar is built on exclusive insights from the Xensam Insights: The 2025 SaaS Report, based on SaaS usage across over 1 million business and organizational users, spanning 12 core categories. The dataset is primarily based on December 2025 observations, with month-on-month trends over the last six months, across a global sample where most organizations represented are European, ranging from 500 to 100,000 employees.

If you work in Software Asset Management (SAM) or support software cost, risk, and governance decisions, this session gives you real benchmarks you can use, not opinions.

What you’ll learn:

You’ll get a clear view of how SaaS is actually adopted and used across categories, and what that means for SAM and IT leaders in 2026.

We’ll also show you how to interpret SaaS adoption using three practical metrics used in the report: Reach, Engagement, and Trending, so you can separate trial adoption from true business dependency and spot where risk is growing.

How the report measures real usage

To keep the insights consistent, the report uses:

  • Reach: The percentage of organizations where at least 10 percent of employees have used an application at least once
  • Engagement: The percentage of organizations where at least 10 percent of employees have actively used an application for at least one hour in a month
  • Trending: The average month-on-month growth over the past six month

The dataset is derived from the Xensam Inventory Agent (Xearch), which detects 120,000 plus SaaS applications and measures active user engagement time (not background activity).
